Help increase brand awareness for Sumup with their core target audience of small merchants across UK and Italy as primary markets and rest of Europe and Brazil as the secondary
market. Challenge was to find one human insight that would fit the creative across all the different cultures in multiple countries simultaneously. So it feels native to each region.
We researched and discovered a great human insight that when a customer walks into a small shop they are pleasantly surprised to be offered a card machine to make the payment by card. Hence we based the entire campaign around “You take card?” in English or “Prende la carta?” in Italian. The CAC of acquiring small business merchant leads was so high that it was decided to approach the campaign as a B2C integrated activity across ATL (TV, Radio, OOH) and BTL (Social Media and Web).
Ekstasy conceptualised and created over 20 assets that were used across TV, Radio, Online and OOH. Served across TV, Radio Print, OOH and Online across UK, Italy, Germany, and Brazil. The Campaign performed so well that the client extended the duration of the campaign from the original 6 month agreement and ended up running for a year and a half.
